Hotel Snow Hills sits on NH-3 in Gondhla, on the banks of the Chandra in Lahaul & Spiti. We’re a small, family-run lodge and restaurant — the kind of place where you arrive as a traveller and leave as a friend.
We opened our doors to give the many people passing between Manali and Leh a warm room, a hot meal and a proper night’s rest — with the glaciers for a view and a bonfire for the evening. Everything we do comes back to that: real comfort, real food, real mountains.

Gondhla & the Lahaul valley.
Gondhla is a historic village in the Chandra (Tinan) valley, best known for its striking timber-and-stone fort — once the seat of the Thakurs who governed here under the Kullu Rajas. Lahaulis speak a Tibetic tongue alongside Hindi, and follow a gentle blend of Buddhism and Hinduism that has co-existed for centuries, celebrated in festivals like the winter bonfire festival of Halda.
For generations the valley was cut off by snow each winter. The Atal Tunnel changed that — Gondhla is now reachable year-round, opening this quiet corner of the Himalayas to travellers in every season. We’re glad you found it.
