Green Lahaul valley and snow-dusted Himalayan peaks around Gondhla on the Manali–Leh highway

Gondhla · Lahaul & Spiti · On the Manali–Leh Highway

The night worth stopping for.

Pine-wood rooms above the Chandra river, a bonfire under the glaciers, and red rice grown in this valley.

Welcome to Snow Hills

A warm Himalayan halt, where the road slows down.

Fifteen minutes from Sissu and the Atal Tunnel, our family-run lodge sits on the banks of the Chandra, framed by hanging glaciers and terraced fields.

Whether you are riding to Leh, chasing snow, or simply looking for quiet mountains and honest food, you arrive as a traveller and leave as a friend.

Himachali Red Rice — the hotel’s signature dish (photo coming soon)

The signature

Himachali Red Rice, grown in this valley.

The dish we’re named for: a nutty, antioxidant-rich landrace cultivated in Lahaul’s high fields, served warm with local dal and desi ghee.

Beyond it, a full multi-cuisine kitchen — Siddu, Himachali Kachori, hearty Indian thalis, Chinese and Continental — cooked fresh for hungry travellers.

We stopped for one night on the way to Leh and wished we’d booked two. Warm room, a red rice thali that hit the spot, and that glacier glowing at sunrise.
